About this site
Biddeford Pool is a coastal area near the mouth of the Saco River on the southern Maine coast, within the town of Biddeford. It forms a sheltered tidal basin behind a barrier of rock and sand, close to the open waters of the Gulf of Maine and near Wood Island. As a dive site, it reaches a maximum depth of around 8 metres and is rated a beginner dive, making the sheltered basin a fairly easy entry point into this stretch of Gulf of Maine coastline.
