Big Giftun refers to Giftun Island, part of the Giftun Islands protected area off the coast of Hurghada in the Egyptian Red Sea. The island's surrounding reefs are reached by boat from Hurghada's marinas and are among the closer offshore dive areas serving the city. The site is rated advanced, and divers have noted it can be easy to lose orientation on, with navigation cited as a challenge among the reef formations. Bannerfish, clownfish, grouper, and scorpionfish have been reported here, along with sightings of Napoleon wrasse.
