About this site
Blowing Rock lies off Big Corn Island in the Corn Islands, a small Nicaraguan archipelago in the western Caribbean Sea some 70 kilometres off the country's Atlantic coast. The site takes its name from a rock formation breaking the surface, with the surrounding waters reached by boat from the island's dive operators. It reaches a maximum depth of around 24 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Eagle rays are a regular sighting here, and divers have also reported barracuda, jacks, manta and mobula rays, moray eels, nurse sharks, reef sharks, sea turtles, snapper, and stingrays around the rock.
