About this site
Mactan Island sits just off Cebu City in the central Visayas region of the Philippines, and its eastern and southern shorelines are lined with dive resorts offering easy boat access to nearby reefs. Blue Hole here is a cave-type formation reaching a maximum depth of around 15 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have reported a bull shark at the site, though this has not been widely corroborated. Mactan's coastline faces the Camotes Sea, with numerous small operators running trips from the beach resorts clustered along Maribago and the eastern shore.
