About this site
The Blue Hole is a spring-fed circular pool in Santa Rosa, Guadalupe County, New Mexico, along the Pecos River valley in the eastern part of the state. It formed as an artesian well and reaches a maximum depth of about 24.7 metres, with rated beginner conditions that make it a popular inland training and certification site in a region otherwise far from any ocean. The town of Santa Rosa has grown up around it as a small tourism draw, and the clear artesian water makes it a longstanding stop for local dive shops running open-water courses.
