About this site

Boat Cave lies off Christmas Island, the Australian territory in the Indian Ocean south of Java, where the coastline is largely made up of steep volcanic drop-offs and limestone formations. The site is a wreck reaching a maximum depth of around 38 metres over a wreck bottom, and it is rated an intermediate dive. Lionfish are a regular sight here, and divers have also reported angelfish, barracuda, batfish, clownfish, eagle rays, frogfish, fusiliers, garden eels, ghost pipefish, grouper, leaf scorpionfish, nudibranchs, and trevally around the structure.
