About this site
Boesmansgat, also known as Bushman's Hole, is a deep freshwater sinkhole in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, near Kuruman. It is known internationally as a technical and record-depth cave diving site, with a shaft that plunges to a verified maximum depth of around 282 metres, rated an advanced dive. Near the surface and entry area, depths of around 20 metres are found before the shaft opens into the deep chamber that has drawn record attempts over the years.
