About this site
The Bowesfield Wreck lies off Torre Faro at the northeastern tip of Sicily, on the Messina Strait where the island faces the Calabrian coast across a narrow, current-swept channel. The strait is known for strong tidal flows driven by the meeting of the Tyrrhenian and Ionian seas, and small boats out of Torre Faro serve this and other sites along the coastline. The wreck reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated an intermediate dive.
