About this site
Bubbies' Bagpipes sits off Florida's southwest coast in the Ten Thousand Islands region near Everglades National Park, in the backcountry waters where mangrove estuaries and shallow banks meet the Gulf rather than the clearer reef systems further south in the Keys. As a reef site here it stays shallow, with a maximum depth of around 10 metres, and it's rated a beginner dive. Conditions in this stretch of the Everglades tend to be shaped by freshwater-influenced channels and murky water rather than open reef visibility.
