About this site
Cala del Morto sits along the coastline of Giglio Island, off the coast of the Province of Grosseto in the Tuscany region of Italy. The island lies within the Tuscan Archipelago in the Tyrrhenian Sea, and this cove is one of its many rocky inlets reached by boat from the island's harbors. Divers here have reported Mediterranean red coral, pig-tooth coral, violescent sea-whip, yellow and white gorgonians, and ornate wrasse along the rocky terrain, giving the site the gorgonian-covered look typical of this stretch of coast.
