About this site
Cap de Nice is a rocky headland on the Mediterranean coast of Nice, at the eastern edge of the city where the shoreline turns toward Villefranche-sur-Mer, in the Alpes-Maritimes department of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur. The point marks a natural boundary between Nice's urban waterfront and the deeper waters of the Rade de Villefranche. The dive here is a beginner site reaching a maximum depth of around 10 metres, making it an easy, shallow spot along the headland. Divers have reported batfish, clownfish, and leaf scorpionfish among the marine life around the rocks, though tropical species like batfish and clownfish are unusual for the Mediterranean and worth noting as isolated sightings rather than the norm.
