Cape Kakomouri sits along the coastline of Crete, in the area near Kalypso, facing the Mediterranean and Aegean waters. Dive access along this stretch of coast typically comes from small boats operating out of nearby Cretan towns. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have reported strong underwater current and waves here, so conditions can turn rough, and dentex, grouper, and octopus have also been spotted along the rocky terrain.
