Capenwray

Capenwray is located in Carnforth, Lancashire, not Rotherham, and is a well known inland dive site set in a flooded limestone quarry. It draws divers from across the north of England for its training platforms, sunken attractions such as vehicles and a submarine mock up, and its clear, cold spring fed water. Visibility is often good by inland standards, though temperature drops noticeably with depth due to a thermocline. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 22 metres, and diving to that depth is rated advanced, even though shallower platforms also make the quarry usable for less experienced divers and training groups.
