About this site
These coordinates fall along the coastline of Madeira, the Portuguese island in the North Atlantic off the coast of northwest Africa. Madeira's shore is largely volcanic in origin, with lava formations that have created caverns and swim-throughs along parts of its coast. Divers at this cave site have reported common dolphins passing through, along with East Atlantic Sally Lightfoot crabs on the rock and European parrotfish around the formations.
