About this site
The Cesare Rosarol is an Italian steamship torpedoed during the First World War off the Istrian coast near Vrsar, in what is now Croatia. The wreck lies in the northern Adriatic and reaches a maximum depth of around 45 metres, rated as a technical dive. It sits as a largely intact hull on the seabed and is approached by boat from harbors along the Istrian coast, drawing divers with an interest in wartime shipping history as much as the dive itself. Over a century underwater has left the hull encrusted with marine growth typical of the region.
