About this site
Chain Reef sits along the coastline of Grand Cayman, part of the reef system fringing the island's western side, typically reached by a short boat ride from the George Town area. It is a beginner dive reaching a maximum depth of around 15.2 metres over coral formations including greater star coral, lobed star coral, and mustard hill coral. Divers have also reported barracuda, eagle rays, and garden eels along the reef, along with Atlantic blue tang, common lionfish, longspine squirrelfish, and West Indian fuzzy chitons.
