About this site
Chandelier Cave is a partly-flooded limestone cavern system in the Rock Islands near Koror, Palau, made up of five linked chambers — four flooded with an air pocket at the top of each, and a fifth entirely dry. The entrance sits at around 4 metres, with the whole dive staying shallow (max depth roughly 9 metres). Divers surface inside each air pocket to see stalactite formations hanging low enough to touch, illuminated by torchlight — the "chandeliers" the site is named for. It's a guided, torch-required dive but accessible to most certified divers; reaching the fifth chamber requires removing dive gear and crawling through tight, muddy passages, and is optional. A short boat ride from Koror.
