Christ Statue / Christ of the Abyss

Christ of the Abyss is a bronze statue of Jesus Christ standing on the seafloor at Key Largo Dry Rocks, within John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park off Key Largo in the Florida Keys. It is a cast of an original placed off Genoa, Italy, and was submerged here in 1965 as a tribute to divers. The statue stands in shallow water, roughly 8 to 9 metres deep, on a coral reef, making it accessible to snorkelers as well as divers of all experience levels. It is one of the most photographed dive sites in the Keys, reached by short boat trips from Key Largo, and the surrounding reef supports typical Keys reef fish and coral growth.
