About this site

Cleaning Station lies among the dive sites around Sipadan Island off the southeastern coast of Sabah in Malaysian Borneo, part of the same marine area as nearby Kapalai. Sipadan sits in the Celebes Sea and is best known for the steep drop-offs rising from deep water just off this small oceanic island, but Cleaning Station offers a shallower counterpoint to that scenery. Divers here have reported green sea turtles and a giant moray moving over the reef, along with ocellaris anemonefish and a common lionfish. A number of nudibranch species have also been spotted at the site, including Anna's chromodoris, Willan's chromodoris, Coi's goniobranchus, dusky nembrotha, and the blue dragon, making it a spot worth slowing down for on the smaller details rather than big drop-off scenery.
