About this site
Cleaning Station is one of the dive sites around Sipadan Island off the southeastern coast of Sabah, in Malaysian Borneo, part of the marine area that also includes Kapalai. Sipadan sits in the Celebes Sea and is known for its steep drop-offs rising from deep water just off a small oceanic island. This particular site is shallower than much of what Sipadan offers, with a maximum depth of around 12 metres, and it's rated a beginner dive, making it a gentler counterpoint to the island's more dramatic walls.
