Con Dao Pier sits near the Sóc Trăng coastline on Vietnam's Mekong Delta mainland, a low-lying delta region fronting the South China Sea, rather than on the Con Dao archipelago that lies well offshore to the southeast. As a shore site it reaches a maximum depth of around 6 metres, and despite the shallow depth it is rated an advanced dive.
