Coral Gardens is a dive site on Flynn Reef in the Great Barrier Reef, with a 30 m wall and a maximum depth of 30 m. Visibility runs from 15 to 30 m, averaging 20 m, with mild currents. Flynn Reef as a whole offers wall dives, swim-throughs, overhangs and night diving, and suits novice to experienced divers.
You find giant clams, fan coral and staghorn thickets in the sand, and pelagics including trevally and Spanish mackerel. Clownfish, batfish, trout cod, fusiliers, butterflyfish, angelfish, basslets and anthias are the reef residents, with larger reef sharks, a big school of bigeye trevally, chevron barracuda, and manta, devil and eagle rays passing. In the summer months, leopard sharks and the occasional whale shark are seen. Staghorn, table, plate and boulder corals cover the reef.
