About this site
Cottam Point sits along Vancouver Island in British Columbia, on the coastline facing the Strait of Georgia and its surrounding channels, part of the broader network of dive access points used along this stretch of coast in the Comox Valley region. It's an intermediate dive reaching a maximum depth of around 24 metres over shallow rocky reefs. Divers have reported mild to moderate currents along with occasional strong upwellings and downwellings, and conditions can be affected by wind and weather. Nudibranchs and octopus have also been spotted at the site.
