About this site
Critter Circus lies in the Lembeh Strait off the northeastern tip of Sulawesi, Indonesia, an area known worldwide for muck diving over dark volcanic sand slopes. Sites throughout the strait are typically dived by small boat from resorts along the Lembeh shoreline, with divers moving slowly over the seabed searching out small, camouflaged creatures rather than dramatic topography. It's rated as a beginner dive, and divers have reported cuttlefish, frogfish, ghost pipefish, ornate ghost pipefish, mantis shrimp, seahorses, and nudibranchs among the finds here, in keeping with the muck-diving reputation of the strait.
