About this site
Deception Pass is a narrow, swift tidal channel separating Whidbey Island from Fidalgo Island in northwest Washington State, connecting Puget Sound's Skagit Bay with the Strait of Juan de Fuca via Rosario Strait. The pass is spanned by the well-known Deception Pass Bridge, and its currents are strong enough to shape the channel's underwater terrain and have long made it a navigational landmark for boaters in the region.
