About this site
Dhigirri Kandu is a channel site cutting through the atoll rim in Vaavu Atoll, part of the Felidhu Atoll group in the central Maldives, typically reached by dhoni or dive boat from resorts and liveaboards operating in the area. As with other kandu sites, it connects the inner lagoon to the open sea, a passage that channels current and pelagic traffic through the gap. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 45 metres and is rated technical, reflecting the depth involved in diving the wall here.
