About this site
Diversity sits off Batanta Island in the Raja Ampat archipelago of West Papua, part of the waters between Batanta and Salawati that feed into the wider Dampier Strait area. Raja Ampat's dive sites in this channel are typically reached by small boat from operators based on Batanta or nearby liveaboards. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 35 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have also reported batfish and ornate ghost pipefish on the reef, though the strait's tidal flow still shapes much of the diving throughout these waters.
