Grand Bahama sits at the northern edge of the Bahamian archipelago, with its south shore facing the deep water channel that separates it from the rest of the islands. Sites along this coast are typically reached by boat from the Freeport and Port Lucaya area, where the shallow bank drops off into open ocean.
