El Avion lies off the volcanic coastline of Tenerife in Spain's Santa Cruz de Tenerife province, in the Atlantic waters of the Canary Islands. The name refers to a sunken airplane resting on the seabed there, a feature found at a handful of sites along this stretch of coast. The dive reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated advanced. The surrounding terrain follows the island's typical dark volcanic sand and rock formations.
