About this site
El Bajo Gardner is a submerged rocky pinnacle off Gardner Islet, near Espanola Island in the southern Galapagos archipelago. Despite its exposed position in open ocean, it's rated a beginner dive, with eagle rays a common sighting around the pinnacle. Divers have also reported angelfish, barracuda, damselfish, garden eels, hammerhead sharks, manta rays, pufferfish, seahorses, surgeonfish, triggerfish, and even whales passing through. Depths and visibility shift with the seasons, running colder and greener during the garua months and clearer and warmer later in the year.
