About this site
This remote Pacific dive site off Colombia's Malpelo Island offers thrilling drift dives along dramatic volcanic walls teeming with marine life. Schools of hammerhead sharks patrol the deep blue, while massive aggregations of silky sharks and occasional whale sharks appear seasonally. The nutrient-rich waters attract large pelagics like tuna and jacks. Strong currents create ideal conditions for advanced divers to experience the site's steep drop-offs and underwater pinnacles. Visibility often exceeds 30 meters, revealing colorful coral and sponge growth on the rocky formations. This UNESCO World Heritage Site provides one of the world's best shark diving experiences.
