About this site
El Planchon is a dive site off Providencia, part of the San Andrés and Providencia archipelago in the western Caribbean Sea belonging to Colombia. The island sits well offshore from mainland Colombia, surrounded by a barrier reef system that draws boat traffic from the small local dive operations based near Santa Isabel. The site tops out at around 12 metres over a reef bottom and is rated an intermediate dive. Divers have also reported nurse sharks and sea turtles here.
