About this site
El Velerito, also known as Barquito De Nirvana, sits off San Andrés in Colombia's San Andrés and Providencia archipelago, in the western Caribbean off the Nicaraguan coast. The island's fringing barrier reef supports a mix of coral formations, and divers here have reported boulder star coral, greater star coral, lettuce coral, lobed star coral, massive starlet coral, and mustard hill coral. The site is typical of the reef and small wreck dives run out of San Andrés town.
