Electric Beach Pipe

Electric Beach, also known as Kahe Point, sits on the leeward Waianae coast of Oahu next to the Kahe Point power plant, whose warm water outflow gives the site its name. It's a shore dive over a mix of reef and rocky bottom, rated beginner and reaching around 5 metres, with an easy entry from the beach park that makes it accessible for a range of divers. The warm discharge from the outflow pipe draws in fish life, and turtles are commonly reported in the area. Divers have also noted frogfish, nudibranchs, and octopus around the site. Surge and surf along this exposed coast can pick up depending on swell, and visibility is heavily influenced by ocean conditions and the plant's operation.
