About this site
The Ennerdale was a British Royal Fleet Auxiliary tanker that struck an uncharted rock and sank in 1970 in the Seychelles, in the channel near Mahe, off Glacis. The wreck lies broken up on the seabed off the Seychelles Bank, scattered across a wide area rather than sitting as an intact hull, with the debris field reaching a maximum depth of around 28.5 metres. It is dived out of Victoria and nearby Mahe operators and is rated an advanced dive given the scattered wreckage and currents in the area. Divers exploring the site have reported eagle rays, grouper, nurse sharks, octopus, and snapper moving among the remains.
