About this site
Off Cabo Frio Island, this site features dramatic underwater cliffs and caves teeming with marine life. Strong currents attract large schools of fish, including barracuda and groupers. The rocky formations create swim-throughs and overhangs covered in colorful sponges and corals. Visibility is often excellent, with cold upwellings bringing nutrient-rich waters. Advanced divers enjoy exploring the steep walls that drop into the deep. Watch for sea turtles and occasional rays gliding past the rocky outcrops. The site offers thrilling drift dives along the island's edge.
