Formigas is a cluster of islets and shoals in the Azores, situated between the islands of São Miguel and Santa Maria in the mid-Atlantic. The surrounding waters, including the nearby Dollabarat bank, are protected as a marine reserve. The area is reached by boat crossing open ocean from either São Miguel or Santa Maria, given its exposed offshore location.
