Foul Grounds lies off the coast of County Londonderry, on the north coast of Northern Ireland, where the Causeway Coast meets the open North Atlantic. This stretch of coastline is known for rocky shoals and reefs that have long posed a hazard to shipping, which is often reflected in place names like this one.
