Gangga Islands

Gangga Island lies off the northern tip of Sulawesi, in the Bangka archipelago area near the Celebes Sea, not far from the popular Lihaga and Bunaken diving grounds. The waters around this part of North Sulawesi are reached mainly by boat from coastal towns such as Likupang. The site sits over a reef bottom with a maximum depth of around 30 metres, light current, and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported barracuda and bumphead parrotfish passing over the reef, along with smaller finds such as mandarinfish, mimic octopus, octopus, nudibranchs, and scorpionfish tucked into the coral.
