About this site
Ghar Lapsi sits on the southwestern coast of Malta, a small inlet below cliffs where a natural rock pool provides shore access into the Mediterranean. The site is reached by a short drive from the villages of Siggiewi and Zurrieq, on a stretch of coastline known for its limestone cliffs and lack of large development. The reef bottom here reaches a maximum depth of around 15 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Divers commonly encounter octopus and flying gurnard on the reef, and some have noted fishing nets snagged in the area along with narrow passages inside the caves. Entry and exit involve a set of steep steps down from the rock pool, worth keeping in mind when planning the dive.
