About this site
Ginnie Springs sits on the Santa Fe River near High Springs, Florida, and is one of the state's best known freshwater spring systems. It feeds a network of underwater caverns and caves, drawing open-water divers who stay within the cavern zone as well as technical cave divers trained to push further into the system. Visibility here is rated great, and the dive is graded beginner with a maximum depth of about 61 metres reaching well into the cave system beyond the cavern area. Divers have also flagged caverns and caves themselves as hazards, a fitting note given the site's reputation, and the springs remain a popular training and recreational destination for divers throughout the region.
