About this site
Gold Rock lies off the south shore of Grand Bahama, in the Bahamas, in the area often referred to as the Gold Rock Reef near Lucayan National Park. The site is a shallow reef known for sandy patches interspersed with coral heads, and it is a common stop for boats operating out of Freeport. It has some tidal current running through it depending on conditions, which shapes how divers drift across the site. It's a beginner dive reaching a maximum depth of about 12.2 metres, and divers have reported lionfish and parrotfish among the coral heads.
