About this site
The oldest known wreck in the Thumb Preserve is the Goliath, a package and bulk freighter. She exploded and burned on September 13, 1848. Her main features are an upright engine, boiler, stove and unique early propellers. They can be examined in about 104 feet of water. Lies in about 31.7 m; sank 1848.
