Gorgonia Beach South Side

Gorgonia Beach South Side lies on the Red Sea coast within Marsa Alam, in Egypt's Red Sea Governorate, a shore-access site along a relatively undeveloped stretch south of Hurghada. Divers entering from the beach here have reported a varied reef fish community, including Arabian Picasso triggerfish, exquisite butterflyfish, freckled hawkfish, Indian sailfin tang, masked puffer, Red Sea bannerfish, regal angelfish, and swarthy parrotfish. The name suggests gorgonian fan growth along the fringing reef, consistent with reef structures typical of this part of the Egyptian coast.
