About this site
Grand Canyon sits in the reef and channel systems off Sandalwood Island in Fiji's Melanesian archipelago, reached by boat from nearby island resorts. It is a reef dive to a maximum depth of around 30 metres, rated advanced. Barracuda are a regular sighting here, and divers have also reported hammerhead sharks, whitetip reef sharks, manta rays, bigeye trevally, trevally, snapper, tuna, and wrasse moving through the channel formations, along with dotted wrasse, yellowtail coris, palette tang, spotted parrotfish, and longfin bannerfish around the reef structure.
