About this site
Grange Tyre Reef lies off Grange, a suburb on the Adelaide coastline in South Australia, within the sheltered waters of Gulf St Vincent. Artificial reefs made from old tyres were installed at several points along this metropolitan coast to create structure on otherwise sandy seabed, and Grange is one of the beachside areas where such a reef was placed. The site sits close to shore, reaching a maximum depth of around 15 metres, putting it within easy reach of Adelaide's western suburbs.
