Grüner See, or Green Lake, sits near the town of Tragöß in Styria, Austria, at the foot of the Hochschwab mountains. It is best known for the seasonal snowmelt flooding that submerges the surrounding meadow and park benches each spring, creating a lake that shrinks back later in the year. Diving here reaches a maximum depth of around 7 metres and is considered suitable for beginners. Divers have also reported strong currents at the site, worth keeping in mind given the shallow depth.
