About this site
Limasawa Island sits off the southern tip of Leyte in the Visayas region of the Philippines, at the entrance to Sogod Bay. The island is known historically as the site of the first Catholic mass in the Philippines in 1521, and its surrounding waters drop into the deep channel separating Leyte from Mindanao. Dive sites along this coastline are typically reached by boat from small coastal communities on the island.
