About this site
This site lies off the Var coast of southeastern France, in the western Mediterranean near the French Riviera. It takes its name from a Grumman F6F Hellcat, a US Navy fighter aircraft from World War II, resting in the waters offshore. The dive is rated advanced. Divers have reported common octopus, Mediterranean damselfish, painted comber and striped red mullet around the wreck, and striped dolphins have also been sighted in the area.
