About this site
HMS Olympus was a British Royal Navy submarine that sank off the coast of Malta in 1942 after striking a mine while leaving Grand Harbour, with significant loss of life among the crew and evacuated submariners aboard. The wreck rests on the seabed at a maximum depth of around 115 metres, making it one of the deeper technical wreck dives in Maltese waters, rated technical due to that depth. Its hull remains largely intact on the sand, a somber reminder of the heavy submarine losses suffered around Malta during the Second World War.
