HMS Pomone was a Royal Navy frigate that struck rocks off Jersey in the Channel Islands in the mid-19th century, and the wreckage now lies scattered across the seabed off the island's coast within an area of rocky reef shaped by strong tidal streams. Jersey's diving is largely governed by the Channel Islands' considerable tidal range, which affects timing and conditions at sites around the island, and this one is no exception. Divers here have reported a range of skates, including blonde, small-eyed, spotted, and undulate skate, along with small-spotted catshark, star tunicate, and even common bottlenose dolphin passing through.
